Chinese vice premier meets with IFC leader ( 2003-10-20 21:35) (Xinhua)
Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju met with Peter Woicke, executive vice-president
of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and his party Monday.
Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the
Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the Chinese government
will adhere to the policy of expanding domestic demands and continue to
implement the pro-active fiscal and stable monetary policy.
The Chinese government will actively advance the economic restructuring and
deepen economic reform including that in the financial sector, so as to maintain
the steady and healthy development of China's economy and finance, he said.
The vice-premier also spoke highly of the services of the IFC in China,
expressing the hope of keeping deepening and widening the areas of cooperation
with the IFC so as to accelerate the reform and development in China's economic
and banking spheres.
Extending thanks for China's support to the World Bank and the IFC, Woicke
said that the IFC's investment in China's western region and cooperation in
China's banking sector have been fruitful and he hoped for enhancement of its
cooperation with China.
