The search is still continued Tuesday for the 11 fishermen missing since
their boat sank in the South China Sea early Sunday.
The wooden fishing boat, with a dead weight tonnage of 53 tons, sunk 40 sea
miles southeast of Sanya City on the southern tip of Hainan Island, according to
the Hainan Provincial search and rescue center.
The center mobilized a dozen ships and one navy helicopter to the site of the
accident to search for the men.
The rescue team has expanded the search area after one fisherman, Wu Xueshi,
18, was rescued Monday afternoon 11 sea miles from the site of the accident.
Wu said there were 12 fishermen aboard the vessel.
A second aircraft and 10 fishing boats working around the site have joined in
the search.
