Fighter with five kinds of heart ( 2003-11-13 11:49) (HK Edition) One heart is not enough for a
talented person. He or she needs at least five.
At least that's the definition of talent given by Sun Taoran, the CEO of
Cooltec Co Ltd, one of China's leading e-dictionary manufacturers.
"The talented person, at least in my company, has to be a 'five-heart
fighter'," says Sun.
Sun explains that the five hearts refer to five of the most important
virtues: selflessness, confidence, responsibility, enterprise and commitment.
Selflessness is his first requirement but confidence is what he values most.
A sense of responsibility is another basic company need.
"Slow-moving people will always remain far from success. The talent I want is
that of people who want to be first. And that is where enterprise comes in: It
is the power that pushes people to make full use of all their ability," Sun
said.
When asked what advice he'd give them in concluding, he says: "Don't be
near-sighted. Have a longer view."
