Nicholas Tse banned for 6 months for careless driving ( 2003-11-27 10:11) (Shenzhen Daily) Hong Kong Canto-pop star Nicholas Tse was fined and banned from driving for six months Monday after pleading guilty to a charge of careless driving that caused a spectacular crash last year. Tse pleaded guilty in the court. He lost his license for six months and was fined HK$4,000 (US$513). The 21-year-old singer was charged after his car struck the back of a another vehicle on a highway in outlying Lantau island last June, leaving the singer¡¯s blue Audi estate in a twisted mess. Tse and two other people were hurt in the crash. It was the latest in a series of high-profile incidents involving the colorful Tse. Tse and policeman Lau Chi-wai, 28, were found guilty last year of allowing Tse¡¯s former chauffeur to falsely present himself as the driver of Tse¡¯s black Ferrari F360 Modena when it crashed in Hong Kong in March. Lau was given a six-month jail term while Tse was sentenced to 240 hours community service, which some observers believed to be too lenient. In November, Tse was fined HK$7,000 (US$897) and had his driving license suspended for a year after he pleaded guilty to two separate charges of speeding. Tse, one of Asia¡¯s hottest stars, was ranked this year as Hong Kong¡¯s top male idol.
