German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder left this capital of southwestern Sichuan province Thursday morning at the end of his four-day official visit to China.

Chancellor Schroeder arrived in Chengdu on Wednesday after visiting Beijing and Guangzhou. During his stay here, he inspected a high-tech development zone and attended a promotion conference on investment environment in Sichuan.

The German chancellor visited China at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao. During his meetings with Chinese leaders, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
