A 15-year-old mother involved in the death of her new-born baby will have criminal charges against her dropped, reports Shanghai Morning Post quoting local police.

The teenager gave birth to a baby in a washing room and then hid it in a plastic bag on a window ledge, but the baby fell six floors and died on the spot.

Police, after several days' investigation, said they would not file charges because her behaviour amounts to an unpremeditated crime.
