A Shenzhen resident surnamed Li has filed a lawsuit against a local mobile phone company last week after he was dumped by his girlfriend who got his phone record from the company and learned of an affair he was carrying with another woman, reports Shenzhen Daily.

The phone company released Li's mobile phone record to his girlfriend surnamed Xiao without his pre-approval.

Xiao immediately ended her relationship with Li after she obtained his monthly phone record that confirmed his fling with another woman
