A native of Northeast China's Jilin Province surnamed Fu was arrested in Shanghai for slashing his lover with a knife during an argument, www.eastday.com reported.

Fu and his lover, surnamed Wang, met in January and lived together after they move to Shanghai.

Wang wanted to return to Jilin and Fu became violent.

He left a 23-centimetre-long scar on his lover's face.
