Asian stock markets for start-up companies will begin discussions this year on a tie up in launching cross-listings and setting up a mutual trading system, a daily said Wednesday.
The heads of Japan's Jasdaq market, South Korea's Kosdaq and other stock markets for start-up firms in Asia will meet in Seoul in October, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun said.
Other participants in the leadership-level meeting will include over-the-counter markets in Singapore and Taiwan and Hong Kong's GEM, the business daily said.
Shenzhen Stock Exchange, which plans to open a market for start-ups, may also join the meeting, the newspaper said.
The partners will discuss corporate cross-listings, as well as the establishment of systems to enable securities companies and investors to place buy and sell orders to partner markets via bourses in their own countries and regions, the Nihon Keizai said.
With the planned tie-up, the partners aim to lure cross-border investments to compete with NASDAQ, which is expanding in Europe and Asia, it said.
