Accounting study courses and exams will be offered by the Association of International Accountants (AIA) in Chinese mainland.
The AIA and the China Education Service Center (CESC) will co-operate to train more accountants in China, said Xiang Zizhi, board chairman of CESC at the agreement signing ceremony between AIA and CESC held on Tuesday in Beijing.
Senior state officials, accounting professionals and university leaders participated in the signing ceremony and discussed how to integrate China's accounting sector with the world's.
"The Association of International Accountants hopes to open a new route to train professional accountants in China", said Philip Turnbull, the AIA chief executive.
Through cooperation with the CESC, the AIA will offer study courses, hold exams and grant membership in the Chinese mainland. The AIA membership has been widely recognized in the European Union, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.
After China's World Trade Organization (WTO) entrance, more and more foreign companies have shown interest in investing in China. This requires more qualified accountants familiar with accounting knowledge, capital operations, investment consulting and financial analysis.
