Zhejiang sees fast rise in foreign trade

Eastern China's Zhejiang Province recorded US$27.432 billion in foreign trade in the first half of this year, up 53.9 per cent year-on-year, according to statistics from the provincial government available on Friday.
The province earned US$ 18.1 billion from exports during the period, up 42 per cent year-on-year, or 8 per cent higher than the national average.
Meanwhile, imports stood at US$9.327 billion, a rise of 83.9 per cent year-on-year, or 39.4 percentage points higher than the national average.
During the first six months of this year, the province achieved a trade surplus of US$8.77 billion, maintaining first place in the country.
167 leading enterprises across the province maintained export momentum with accumulative imports and exports standing at US$3.122 billion in the same period, up 57.2 per cent year-on-year.
Exports and imports by the above-mentioned key enterprises stood at US$2.174 billion and US$948 million respectively, up 42.4 per cent and 106.8 per cent year-on-year.
79 such enterprises exported more than US$10 million worth of goods during the first six months, and 25 exceeded US$20 million in exports.
