Measures taken to keep juveniles from entering Internet bars
The Chinese government has called for checking all Internet bars across the country from February to August so as to halt the entry of juveniles as well as access to harmful information through the Internet. The decision was released here Thursday at a meeting jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, the General Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security and other relevant governmental departments. During the period, the government departments will take resolute measures to enhance supervision over Internet bar business and close those bars with no licenses. Any such place allowing juveniles to enter or allowing unhealthy information to spread through the Internet will be penalized severely, the meeting noted. Recently due to the lax management and supervision in some places, the illegal acceptance of juveniles into Internet bars became frequent and quite a lot of online filthy information was spread from Internet bars, according to the meeting. |
