Beijing experiences unusual hot weather
Beijingners are embracing summer in advance when they change thick and heavy sweaters with skirts and short-sleeved T-shirts in the past two days. At 1:30 p.m. Friday, the thermometer at the Wangfujing Street, a downtown area in China's capital Beijing, showed a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, the highest in this spring. The temperature for the city Thursday was 28.2 degrees Celsius. Experts with the local meteorological station said that it's unusual to have such high temperature in early April in Beijing. Usually, similar hot weather occurs only in late May. Experts said that the hot weather is caused by a warm air mass and ample sunshine. The temperature in Beijing and other northern cities will still enjoy sunshine but with lower temperature for the next two days. They also suggested residents to drink more water and take measures to prevent sunburn in the hot and dry weather. |
