Mother, twin daughters murdered in HK flat
A new immigrant mother and her six-year-old twin daughters were found dead at their Yin Shui Wai home in Hong Kong Sunday. Local newspapers reported Monday that her husband was seriously wounded and underwent an operation in hospital Sunday night. Police have classified the case as murder but said more investigations were required into the killings. The 31-year-old mother came from southwest China's Sichuan Province in January this year. Police said there were suspicious circumstances regarding the evidence provided by the wounded man. Police arrived at the scene Sunday evening after receiving a call from a man, claiming that his two daughters were lying unconscious in a pool of blood at their home in Tin Heng Estate. The police had to break into the flat and sent the 46-year-old man to a hospital. The mother and twin daughters were found dead with several chop wounds each and a bloodstained knife was also discovered at the scene. Police said the family had called them in after an earlier dispute and was receiving counseling from the Social Welfare Department. The man lost his job last year and was described as bibulous by his neighbors. Several family killing cases were reported in Hong Kong last year, most of them involving economic problems. Local newspapers suggested people to talk to friends, relatives and even volunteers when they meet trouble, and called on residents to take more care of their neighbors, especially when quarrels are often heard.
