Nepal takes part in Beijing cooperative fair Nepalese women entrepreneurs are showcasing their products at the International Cooperative Fair 2004 being held in China's capital Beijing from Monday, the Nepali Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply said in Kathmandu Monday. A 17-member Nepali team led by Rita Bhandari, chairperson of the Nepalese Women Entrepreneurs Association, is in Beijing to participate in the fair, the ministry said in a press statement. Nepali goods such as wool, pashmina, woolen clothes, silver ornaments, ornamental beads and hand-made paper will be shown at the fair. "The exhibition will help find market for Nepali goods produced by cooperatives," the statement said. The international fair is being organized by the International Cooperative Alliance and hosted by the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. The same fair will also be held in China's western province of Qinghai on July 9-12. |
