Chess queen to play computer "Star of Unisplendour"
World chess champion Zhu Chen disclosed Thursday she will play portable computer "Star of Unisplendour" June in Beijing, whose software programmers are from some chess specialists and top players, being newly-developed by atop Chinese IT company Tsinghua Unisplendour Ltd. The 28-year-old Chinese chess queen, who is studying for her master's degree in China's prestigious Tsinghua University, will not receive any prize from the human-vs-machine clashes as she is the image promoter of Tsinghua Unisplendour, no matter the outcome is a win or loss. The international grand master will have two matches with "Star of Unisplendour" on June 8 and 12 respectively. The reigning world champion revealed she had no much confidence in the fight against a machine, which leaves you no slip of any mistakes. "Though I use computer a lot to store information on my training, I have no practical match with it. I am clear it will let no mistake slip away programmed in software, but it's not as creative as human being. I don't know who is better-positioned. Anything is possible. Maybe I win all or lose all. " Organizers said the human-vs-computer tourney is just to attract attention and support of chess from the public. |
