AFC Champions League: Shanghai maintain winning ways
(Football Asia)
Updated: 2004-05-06 10:54

Shanghai Shenua continued their resurrgence under Howard Wilkinson with a 1-0 win over last season's Champions League finalists on Wednesday night.

The win gives Wilkinson's oufit their second consecutive win in Asia's premier club competition and lifts the team above BEC Tero, semi-finalists in last year's Champions League, who seem destined to finish this year's competition in last place in the group.

With only pride at stake - neither side had any chance of qualifying for the last eight - the Chinese oufit won the game thanks to a late effort from substitue Li Dawei.
