Japanese PM arrives in Pyongyang
Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi arrived in Pyongyang on Saturday morning for a one-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Japanese prime minister's plane landed at Sunan Airport at 09:05 a.m. local time (0005 GMT). He was greeted by DPRK's Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Yong-il. During his visit, Koizumi will meet with Kim Jong-il, top leader of the DPRK, to discuss implementation of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration signed in September, 2002 when Koizumi first visited the DPRK. The history, abduction and nuclear issue were the main points in the Declaration which restricting normalization of the DPRK- Japan's relations.
