Landslide in SW China kills three, 24 missing

Three persons were confirmed dead in a landslide that took place Saturday afternoon at Wansheng District of Chongqing Municipality.

Rescue workers have found the bodies of the dead and three injured people, and rescue operations are still underway, said Sun Ruibin, head of Wansheng District.

A total of 24 people in 14 households were buried in mud and stones carried by a landslide near a coal mine in Wansheng District, which is located in the southeastern part of Chongqing, about 110 km from the city proper.
