Hong Kong will join hands with the adjacent Guangdong Province in the Chinese mainland to organize a day-long on-line investment seminar on June 29, a government press release said in Hong Kong Saturday.
The Greater Pearl River Delta (HK-Guangdong) On-line Investment Seminar 2004 is the first such event ever organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government and the Guangdong government.
It highlights the advantages of using Hong Kong as a service platform and Guangdong as a manufacturing base, and aims to attract companies or individuals interested in investing in Hong Kong and Guangdong, particularly potential investors from North America, Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia.
The seminar will feature speeches by senior government officials, such as Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang, Director-General of InvestHK Mike Rowse and Guangdong Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation Director-General Liang Yaowen. Prominent businessmen will also share their experience on investing in Hong Kong and Guangdong.
Experts from InvestHK, the Trade and Industry Department and the Trade Development Council will be available to answer questions on investment. Guangdong officials will also address questions on investment in the province.
The seminar will be hosted on the Greater Pearl River Delta website, which has been created to promote the advantages of investing in the region. The website is an innovative and effective communications tool to reach potential investors from within and outside the region.
