The All-Star Squad of the Euro 2004 soccer tournament will be announced by the UEFA technical study group on Monday, the Euro 2004 official website said.

The group, led by UEFA's technical director Andy Roxburgh, will also declare the winner of the Player of the Tournament aside from the 23 All-Star players at 11:00 local time Monday.

French coach Gerard Houllier will join Roxburgh in announcing the All-Star Squad at a conference at the International Media Center in Lisbon.

The introduction of the Player of the Tournament means that for the first time, fans will also have a say in who wins this prestigious accolade as their voting will be considered when deciding the winner.

The player with the most votes cast by fans will have one vote during the UEFA technical study group deliberations after the final on Sunday.

Along with Roxburgh and Houllier, the other six members of the group, Roy Hodgson, Anghel Iordanescu, Gyorgy Mezey, Holger Osieck, Jozef Venglos and Berti Vogts, will also cast one vote each for the best player at the championship, taking the total of votes to nine.

The presentation of the Player of the Tournament trophy will be arranged around the UEFA Football Gala in Monaco on August 26, which heralds the start of the new European season.

UEFA's technical study group has been attending the UEFA European Championship since 1996 and publishes its findings in a report issued after the end of the tournament. The distinguished group of coaches analyze tactical and technical trends at the EURO final round. The report is used to benefit the European technical sector as a whole.
