Israel army kills two near Nablus
Israeli troops have shot dead two Palestinians in separate incidents near the
West Bank city of Nablus. They said the other was shot dead in the Balata refugee camp by Israeli soldiers who came under fire. But Palestinians said he was one of several youths throwing stones, and two others were wounded by Israeli gunfire. In the last week, six Palestinians were killed by the Israeli military in operations against Islamic militants. Rifle and ammunition The man killed near Har Bracha opened fire on soldiers, an Israeli Army spokesman told Reuters news agency. When his body was found, he had an assault rifle and ammunition. Palestinian medical sources said that the youth shot dead near Balata refugee camp was 18-year-old Mahmud Lehawani. They said he was hit in the chest when Israeli soldiers opened fire on a group of stone throwers. But an army spokesman said that troops had shot and killed "an armed gunman who fired at the force".
