Hackers attack Diaoyu Islands defenders' website
A non-governmental organization, China Federation of Defencing Diaoyudao Islands, said its website was attacked by Japanese hackers and its technicians have fixed it. Its website,www.cfdd.net, was attacked by hackers July 25. Leaving the name "Japanese Hacker Willl", the hacker altered the contents and erased the forum of the page. Informed by some net friends that their homepage was hacked, Zhou Wenbo, a member of CFDD, visited the page July 25 at about 9pm. He noticed that the name of the organization on the top of the page was changed into "Diaoyudao Islands belong to Japan --- Japanese Hacker Willl!!" Besides, the site's forum and information of previous campaigns to defend the Diaoyudao Islands were also erased. Technicians managed to resume normal function of the website in the morning next day. However, all forum posts from July 15 to July 25 were lost. Suspecting that information of more than 3,000 registered members might have been stolen, Zhou reported it to the police. Network Security Department of Beijing police force is now invesigating into the case. Technicians at the website and police are not sure whether the hackers were from Japan. Investigators will visit Xinnet Technology, the server provider of CFDD's homepage, to gather more information. |
