Filipino conjoined twins to be separated

Two-year-old Filipino conjoined twins Carl and Clarence Aguirre are wheeled into the operating room at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in New York on August 4, 2004. The fourth surgery of the series of planned surgeries designed to separate the twins began this morning. Surgeons are expected to be operating on Carl and Clarence, who are reported to be "stable and doing nicely", late into the evening. [Reuters]
