The half-hour clip was touted as the first online glimpse of the Asian heart-throb's new 15-date "Vision Tour", which kicked off here last week, the Apple Daily newspaper said.

Lau was said to be "shocked and angry" about the incident, according to the paper. His agent, surnamed Tam, said it was "outrageous".

"Although the quality of the film was very bad, filming without permission is a crime. We will definitely take legal action over this and ban the website to continue to show the concert on the Internet," Tam told the newspaper.

The 43-year-old Lau is a leading star in the world of Canto-pop, a hybrid of Chinese ballads and Western pop which fills the local charts, and also an award-winning actor who has starred in some of Hong Kong's most critically acclaimed films.
