Lewinsky denies report of China book tour
Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky flatly denied a report that she was planning a promotional tour in China for her 1999 book, "Monica's Story" and demanding huge sums for media interviews.
"That is totally false," Lewinsky spokeswoman Barbara Hutson told AFP.
"She is definitely not going to China, and indeed never planned to go to China," Hutson said, adding that Lewinsky had even declined to provide a new foreword to the Chinese version of "Monica's Story."
Hutson also rejected the Shanghai Morning Post claim that Lewinsky was demanding one million dollars per interview from media interested in the Chinese publication.
"The only thing that is true is that her book is coming out there," Hutson said. "But she has no participation in that. She has moved on her with life."
Lewnisky's sexual liaisons with Clinton resulted in impeachment hearings against the former president. Although he was acquitted, the scandal remains a major blemish on his two-term presidency.
The affair was brought back into the spotlight in June with the publication of Clinton's memoir "My Life," in which he spoke of his self-disgust at his behaviour.
