Pink dolphins in the sea off HK (Agencies) Updated: 2004-09-27 15:52
Undated handout photo of two Chinese white
dolphins in waters near Hong Kong. On a clear day you could, if you're
lucky, spot small group of the Chinese white dolphin leaping out of the
busy waters between Hong Kong and Macau. An unofficial mascot of Hong
Kong, the mammal is more commonly known as the pink dolphin in Hong Kong.
It is grey at birth and turns white at maturity. But it normally takes a
pinkish hue from blood vessels close to the skin.
