Ocean aquarium opens in Penglai

Updated: 2004-10-01 11:15 Penglai Ocean Aquarium World,
one of the largest of its kind in China, opened to visitors yesterday in this
renowned tourist county of East China's Shandong Province.
Financed with more than 460 million yuan (US$55.6 million) by the local
Haifeng Group, the aquarium covers an area of 51,800 square metres and is
expected to see with 1 million personnel times of visitors annually.
It includes a total of 14 exhibition halls, including ones for a tropical
rain forests, polar regions,sharks, turtles, seals, dolphin and sea lion
performances, underwater playgrounds and a four-dimension innervations
theatre.
