Ronaldo ranks Brazil's 2nd best striker ever

After scoring twice against Venezuela last Saturday in a regional qualifier for Germany 2006, Ronaldo became the second best striker ever of the national soccer team, with 56 goals.

According to figures of the Brazilian Soccer Confederation (CBF) , the Real Madrid striker now is only second to Pele, who scored 77 goals in his career, but surpassed Romario and Zico, with 55 and 52 goals scored respectively.

Along with Pele, Ronaldo is the best striker in World Cup, with 12 goals, four in 1998 and eight in 2002.

With 65 goals in matches of the national team against national teams, clubs, combined teams, regional teams and with the Olympic team, Ronaldo is the fourth best striker of Brazil, behind Pele (95), Romario (70) and Zico (67), according to CBF figures.
