Predictions of the development of China's ten key industries from 2005 to 2010 will be released at a seminar slated for Nov. 6-7, organizers of the seminar said in Beijing Thursday.

The development trends and investment opportunities in the ten industries, including energy resources, electric power, steel, and petrochemicals, for the next five years will be given in the prediction reports, said Li Kai, secretary-general of the organizing committee.

Leading officials from major government departments such as the State Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce will be invited to the seminar. They are expected to answer questions on the government's macro-control measures in the next step and China's economic development trend next year, among other hot topics, said Li.

The seminar, jointly sponsored by the State Information Center and China Securities Daily, is considered the most authoritative forum on macro-economic and industrial development in China.

The first such seminar was held last year.
