Police: "Pessimistic" man set off bus blast
Police on Wednesday stand guard over an injured man, who is suspected of causing Tuesday's Hunan bus explosion, according to police sources.
The suspect, Yang Jinquan, is a 54-year-old farmer from Hengshan County of central China's Hunan Province. Police said he was pessimistic about future life as a result of family disputes. Yang told a friend a month ago that he would create "a surprising incident" in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province. Yang, who was among the injured in the explosion, is being treated in hospital under police surveillance. The explosion Tuesday struck a bus in Changsha, injuring 54 passengers, including nine still in critical condition. Most of the injured suffered burns. Investigation into the case continues. |
