Jordan bus crash kills 12
As many as 12 people, nine of them Britons on a spiritual tour, died in a bus accident in southern Jordan Thursday, Scotsman.com reported.
More than 20 passengers were injured and taken to hospitals. The crash occurred near the southern Jordanian town of Tafila when the bus, headed from ancient city of Petra to the capital Amman, blew a tire and crashed into a pickup truck. The Prince of Wales, who was traveling in Jordan at the time of the accident, visited survivors in one of the hospitals. "My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones in this ghastly accident," Charles said in a statement. At least nine of the injured were believed to be in the British group. |
