Premier Wen leaves for Netherlands

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left here Tuesday afternoon for Hague, the Netherlands, to attend the Seventh China-EU Leaders' Meeting scheduled on Dec. 7-9.

During the meeting, Wen will confer with Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, whose country holds the rotating European Union (EU) presidency, European Commission (EC) President Jose Manuel Barroso, and Javier Solana, secretary general of the Council of the EU and representative for the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy.

Wen will also pay an official visit to the Netherlands as guest of Balkenende.

Wen's entourage includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing, Minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua, Minister of Agriculture Du Qinglin and Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai.
