Super search Accoona.com launched in US and China
The New Jersey-based Accoona Corporation, an industry pioneer in artificial intelligence search technology, announced on Monday the launch of Accoona.com in New York City to provide the largest proprietary online database of information on companies worldwide.
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was present at the opening ceremony, bestowing his best wishes to the search engine.
"Accoona's Artificial Intelligence Technology will elevate Search Engine performance to a new unprecedented level," said Eckhard Pfeiffer, Accoona's Chairman and former CEO of Compaq Computer.
Accoona takes its name from the Swahili saying "hakuna matata," meaning "no worries." Accoona has also entered into a distribution agreement with Yahoo's Overture, providing Overture Targeted pay-per-click search results to Accoona.com users.
"It is my belief that, as a unique online business information search engine, Accoona.com can provide another fast track for the business exchange and cooperation between China and other countries," said Zhao Qizheng, Minister of China's State Council Information Office. "My department will continue to support such efforts to promote Chinese enterprises in doing business with companies throughout the world."
Zhang Ping, Chairman and CEO of Chinadaily.com.cn, said at the launch that a concerted effort and smooth cooperation between the two will make accoona.cn a great success in China, the world's most burgeoning economy with up to 100 million Internet users.
Accoona's proprietary business database includes information on 5 million Chinese companies. Accoona possesses the largest database of Chinese businesses in the world. This information will provide global corporations with the information they need to do business in this burgeoning market. As China prepares for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Accoona will play an increasing important role both in helping international companies enter China and in helping Chinese companies sell their goods and services abroad.
Accoona merges traditional website content with relevant business data utilizing the Accoona QuickProfile, a new presentation feature that takes the search experience to the next level. One-click access immediately delivers relevant business information such as primary contact, address, email, fax, phone number, and other important data.
Accoona also introduced a new interactive search experience for its users with its SuperTargeted search feature. The user has further control in the search process by highlighting key word(s), thus emphasizing what key word(s) are more important within the search query.
For example, the user entering a 5 key word query is able to highlight one or more key words to prioritize the key words within a search query. The Accoona Search Engine automatically ranks the results beginning with the pages with the "highlighted" key word(s) or the meaning of that key word(s) that is more relevant to the others as determined by the user. The corresponding, "SuperTargeted" search results are then merged with the Accoona QuickProfile business data.
The global launch of the new Accoona.com search engine will provide users with more useful results than ever before. The company's new proprietary Artificial Intelligence technology will revolutionize the search engine business by understanding the meaning of search terms, and providing more relevant results. In addition, the user's search will be further enhanced through the introduction of SuperTargetting capabilities and the Accoona QuickProfile feature.
Accoona's Artificial Intelligence Search Technology has three revolutionary differentiators in the search space:
First of all, Accoona understands the meaning of words. Accoona goes beyond a direct keyword match, returning to users more relevant results based on the meaning of words, beyond just the keywords. With typical search engines, users receive results that have those specific keywords present, no more, no less. With Accoona Artificial Intelligence Technology users are able to access the pages that might have none of the exact keyword matches and still be very relevant to query.
Secondly, Accoona grants you the ability to SuperTarget your search. Users are able to highlight individual words within a query to bring forward pages that have the most relevance related to the highlighted term or terms.
Third, the Accoona QuickProfile database has hundreds of millions of records on 32 million companies across the globe. All you need to do is click on our infinity symbol next to a company's name and we'll tell you the company's contact information, annual sales, number of employees, and other significant details.
How does a user SuperTarget a search?
SuperTargeting allows a user to highlight words within the query. By simply checking a box below each query term the user can view those pages that contain the highlighted term (and the meaning of that term) to the top of the results page. Users can SuperTarget one word or more by highlighting the terms, hence improving the relevance of the search. This is a breakthrough in delivering relevant results, by allowing users to sort through millions of pages with ease and simplicity, and ultimately view the pages the user is truly looking for. |
