Medical staffers hold a newly-born baby boy at a hospital in Beijing today. The lucky baby counted China's 1.3 billionth citizen. [Xinhua]

A baby boy, China's 1.3 billionth citizen, was born at 0:02 Thursday in a Beijing hospital.

"Both mother and son are in good condition," said midwife Wang Chujie of Beijing Maternity Hospital.

The newborn weighs 3,660 grams and is 52 cm long, she said.
