70 percent laid-offs reemployed

Unemployment is on the decline in China after the government helped seventy percent of its 5.3 million laid-off workers find new jobs in 2004.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security says it also provided relevant training to these people and encouraged them to start their own businesses last year.

The ministry also says it will double employment training and encourage more people to pioneer in their own business in 2005.
