Pu Zhaozhou, head of the Taiwan division of the Chinese mainland's civil aviation administration, has indicated he is willing to negotiate with Taiwan on cross-strait charter cargo flights, the island's Chinese-language China Times reported.

There are needs for such charter services and mainland firms are willing to provide such cargo flights, Pu said in the report.

The daily also quoted an unnamed Beijing source as saying that the mainland will give concrete views on the issue in the next few days.
