Jacky Cheung fathers a girl, again

Hong Kong pop king Jacky Cheung announced he is the proud father of a second daughter.

In a news release Monday, the singer confirmed suspicions and admitted his wife May May gave birth to their second daughter March 8, the International Women's Day. 

In the news release, Cheung explained in a humorous way why he kept the news secret.

"Though I am excited about being a father again, it is a minor thing compared to really important news like the resignation of chief executive Tung Chee-hwa and the re-election of the chief executive of the HKSAR."

Then he tried wittily to shift media focus to the others by stating "Beyond my happiness, I am still very curious about things like who will be the next chief executive? Is Feye Wong remarried and pregnant? Who is the girl friend of Jerry Yan?"

According to reports, Cheung would focus on his family and be a full-time father for a while.

He has put aside new assignments except for his commitment to the musical Snow Wolf Lake.
