More than 540 kilograms of heroin worth 320 million Hong Kong dollars, or about 40 million US dollars have been confiscated when Hong Kong and Thailand police busted a drug smuggling ring.

Police say the drugs were found in a Hong Kong-owned fishing boat in the South Thailand Sea. Five people on board were arrested.

This is the largest drug seizure in Thailand in the past ten years.
