Film star Sandra Bullock has been honoured with a star on Hollywood's
Walk of Fame.
The actress, currently starring in the sequel to Miss Congeniality,
said she would "turn legit" after being given the award.
"I no longer feel compelled, because of this honour, to carve my name
into every wet cement board on a sidewalk," the 40-year-old star said.
Her accolade was placed beside Keanu Reeves', Bullock's co-star in
Speed.
The 1994 high-octane thriller thrust the actress into the spotlight.
Her other film credits include While You Were Sleeping, The Net and
Miss Congeniality.
The follow-up to the film, subtitled Armed and Fabulous, continues the
story of FBI agent Gracie Hart, who was originally sent on a mission to
foil a bomb plot at a beauty pageant.
Bullock's Hollywood ceremony coincided with the US nationwide release
of her new film.
Among the guests at the dedication was actor William Shatner, famed for
his role as Captain Kirk in the Star Trek series.
