Farmer's tale of riches turns to saga of woe A Sichuan Province farmer who travelled to Shenzhen to find a job now finds himself lying in a bed hoping to find cash to pay for his hand, badly injured in a bomb blast. Cao and his wife went to the city, thinking they could make a fortune. But a big fire atop a mountain broke out near where they were staying. After the fire was doused, the couple climbed up to see what had happened. That's when they discovered two unexploded water canisters and took them home. Thinking they could break down the metal from the devices and sell it as scrap iron, Cao began to dismantle the canisters. He succeeded. But while opening the second, it exploded. Three of the fingers from his left
hand were blown to bits, the Shenzhen Commercial Daily
reports. |
