Police rush scalded infant to hospital Beijing police rushed a heavily scalded boy to a hospital and saved his life, the Beijing Morning Post reports. A woman surnamed Xia in Beijing placed a pot of boiling water on a table when her curious 1-year-old son happened to overturn it and was severely burned. Carrying the screaming boy, her husband ran to grab a taxi, but the vehicle became stuck in a severe traffic jam. That's when police came to the rescue, after Xia waved a patrol car down. Officers used lights and sirens to navigate their way to the hospital. The swift arrival to allow medical care was credited with saving the boy, officials said.
