The 29-year-old Beckham has this past season been linked with a move back to the Premiership since leaving Manchester United in 2003.

Wenger is quoted as saying in the News of the World: "We will have some money to spend in the summer and if there was a chance to sign David Beckham, we would look at it.

"If the situation arises that it is possible, why not?"

Beckham played for Madrid in their 2-0 win over Real Sociedad yesterday, closing the gap on Spanish league leaders Barcelona to three points.
