Shanghai can learn from Aichi Expo: Vice Premier
Shanghai, which will hold theWorld Exposition in 2010, can learn from the Expo 2005 Aichi, visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi said on Tuesday. The Expo 2005 Aichi under the theme of "Nature's Wisdom" demonstrates comprehensively the relations between the human being and nature, and bears the telling characteristics of the time, Wu said at a reception hosted by the Japan-China Investment Promotion Organization. "We want to learn as much experience as possible from the Expo 2005 Aichi so that we can use them for reference in the preparation for the show in Shanghai," she said. Wu arrived in Nagoya on the day, kicking off her eight-day travel in Japan. She is scheduled to visit the Expo 2005 Aichi on Thursday and attend the opening ceremony of the China's Day. Also among the topics is exchanging views with figures from allwalks of life in Japan on how to materialize the consensus regarding the improvement of Sino-Japanese relationship. Chinese President Hu Jintao and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi agreed on a five-point proposal brought up by Hu last month in Jakarta on the sidelines of the Asia-Africa summit. Wu will fly to Tokyo on Thursday and is expected to meet with Japanese politicians. The vice premier, who is in charge of trade and foreign investment, will deliver a speech at a symposium there entitled "The Future of Asia." |
