39 dead in El Salvador, Honduras flooding (Agencies) Updated: 2005-06-28 08:57
Heavy rains caused flooding and landslides in El Salvador and Honduras,
leaving a total of 39 dead in both countries, including 21 people killed when a
bus was carried away by flood waters.

2005.[AP] | Authorities were still searching for nine people missing after the bus was
engulfed late Sunday 35 miles west of San Salvador. It was carrying home a total
of about 40 players and fans of a nonprofessional soccer team called Los Leones.
Ten passengers have been found alive.
In towns west and southwest of the capital, seven people were killed in
landslides and three people were killed when their homes were carried away by
flood waters.
In neighboring Honduras, officials said eight people died and 200 homes were
damaged during three days of flooding.
