The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said following the attacks in London that it was confident the British capital would be able to provide a secure environment for the 2012 Games.

"We have full confidence in the London authorities to secure the Games," IOC spokeswoman Giselle Davies told reporters in Singapore.

The IOC added it believed the attacks were not related to the city winning the right to host the 2012 Games.

"This is not at all related to the Olympics," Davies said Thursday.
