The death toll confirmed from a coal mine blast in northwest China's Xinjiang
had risen to 34 by 15:30pm Monday, according to a cnradio.com.cn report.
Chinese rescuers are ready to enter a coal
mine pit in the city of Fukang, Northwest China's Xinjiang Autonomous

| Only four of
the 87 miners were found survived the accident so far, and the fate of 49
others are unknown.
At about 2:30am Monday, a gas explosion ripped through the coal mine in
Fukang, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. At the time of the
accident, 87 miners were working underground in the mine, according to State
Administration of Work Safety.
Local leaders and leaders from the administration have rushed to the mine to
organize rescue work. And rescue operation is underway.
