US, Iraqi troops clash with insurgents in Samarra, 4 dead (Agencies) Updated: 2005-07-22 16:11
U.S. and Iraqi troops clashed Friday with militants in the central Iraqi city
of Samarra, leaving four dead, police said.
One Iraqi soldier, along with three civilians, were killed, said police Capt.
Laith Mohammed. Another 11 people were wounded, he said.
Samarra, located 95 kilometers (60 kilometers) north of Baghdad, has been the
site of numerous clashes between coalition forces and
insurgents.
