Insurgents continued a string of attacks Saturday against Iraqi police and civilians, leaving at least six dead.

Three Fallujah police officers were found fatally shot in the nearby town of Karma, 10 kilometers (6 miles) east of Falluja on Saturday, said police 1st Lt. Mohammed Ibrahim from Fallujah.

The victims - identified as 1st Lt. Mahir al Dulaimi, Lt. Ali Abdullah and Sgt. Aziz Jehanhad - had traveled to Karma three days ago and their families lost contact with them, he said.

In Baghdad, unknown gunmen traveling in two cars opened fire and killed a Ministry of Interior police employee Friday night, police Capt. Mohammed al-Obeidi said Saturday. Lt. Col. Abdul Qadir Wahab was killed in his car on his way home, he said.

In separate attacks, gunmen ambushed several Iraqi police patrols throughout Baghdad Saturday, injuring three officers, police said.

The morning attacks occurred in the eastern neighborhood of New Baghdad, southern Dora and western Seidiyah, police said.

A blindfolded, bullet-filled corpse of a man in his 50s was found just outside Baghdad, said police Lt. Col Sabah Hameed. The man had died some time ago, he said.

On Friday night, police discovered the body of the third of three brothers abducted in northern Baghdad earlier this week. Two corpses had already been found on Thursday, according to 1st Lt. Thair Mahmoud Saturday. Two of the brothers were police officers while the third was a Muslim imam.
