Reigning Olympic champion Argentina powered past Australia 88-57
The South Americans, who had two Olympic gold medallists on the team,
dominated from the beginning till the end. They were simply stronger, quicker
and sharper.
Opening with a 11-3 burst, Argentina enlarged its advantage to 24-9 after the
first quarter and improved to 46-18 at the half time.
With the Argentines dominating inside, the Australians had no choice but
turning to their outside shooters. However, the Oceanian champions only made
four three-pointers out of 23 attempts, compared to 10-for-18 by Argentina.
